Feel the Authentic Atmosphere of Munich at Grand Hilton Seoul!

One of the year’s most eagerly awaited social events returns with the 2016 Grand Hilton Seoul Oktoberfest on September 3, 2016 from 6 pm. Hosted by the hotel’s convention hall, this year’s celebrations will mark the 10th anniversary of Grand Hilton Seoul’s very own Oktoberfest.

Grand Hilton Seoul is starting early bird ticket sales for this renowned party, which replicates the mood of the annual beer festival held in Munich, Germany. On sale from July 11-31, early bird tickets are available at a 15% discounted price.

Like the original German Oktoberfest, the event will feature unlimited Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier and Weihenstephaner Original Lager on tap, along with traditional German food including Bavarian White Sausage, Schweinshaxe, Black Forest Ham and a wide choice of buffet dishes. With the legendary Anton Band arriving direct from Munich to perform live music, staff attired in traditional costumes and decorations matching the festivities in Germany, guests can expect to experience an authentic and lively Oktoberfest atmosphere.

In honor of the hotel’s 10th Oktoberfest, the festival will be upgraded with special treats in store. All attendees will be presented with a beauty mask pack and a voucher for premium cosmetic brand TREEANNSEA. Eco-bags, perfume samples and more will be handed out to those who post photos on Facebook and Instagram. Further great prizes will be taken home by the strongest contestants in ‘beer drinking’ and ‘driving the nail’ games. In addition, guests can look forward to a lucky draw featuring Lufthansa airline tickets, hotel vouchers and plenty of other offerings such as items from Honeydew Rabbit, Moschino, AutoVis and Cafissimo.

This year’s Grand Hilton Seoul Oktoberfest is sponsored by Lufthansa, Weihenstephan, TUV SUD, Agrosuper, HRS, G&L Commerce, Joya, AutoVis, Honeydew Rabbit, TREEANNSEA, Moschino, Imagery Code and Cafissimo among others.

Grand Hilton Seoul’s Oktoberfest has become the South Korean capital’s largest beer festival with about 1,000 people visiting every year.

Supplementary Information

Oktoberfest is a beer festival that is traditionally held for sixteen days from the third Saturday of September to the first Sunday of October. It is one of the world’s biggest festivals along with the Rio Carnival and the Sapporo Snow Festival.

The ‘festival of October’, or Oktoberfest, has its origins in the celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in 1810, before it became an annual event featuring a traditional costume parade and horse races involving knights.

As Germany’s largest festival, it draws massive crowds with up to 7.5 million tourists flocking to Munich to attend. During the proceedings, over 4 million glasses of beer, 650,000 chickens and 1.1 million sausages are consumed. Massive tents capable of accommodating 5,000 people each are filled with traditional costumes, live music and singing.
