The Korea Post notices

Handong Global University stands out with many distinguishing features

An unrivaled long string of scholarships, financial assistance

Most of the high school graduates and their parents in Korea tend to insist on winning matriculation ‘at all cost’ at Seoul National University or other ‘prestigious’ universities in Seoul such as Yonsei, Korea, Ewha (for women), Sogang and a number of others.

However, closely examining other universities in Korea, such as those in different localities out of the capital city, one is appalled at the outstanding features of other universities in various localities, which stand out in various aspects.

For further details, please visit: /news/view.html?section=162&category=184&no=947

President Seung-hoon Chang of the University cordially invites Your Excellency with Madam, with other Ambassadors and Madams, to visit the University on Thursday 11 June 2015 and invitation has already been forwarded to each Excellency. In case of our transmission failure, please advise us at 2298-1740/2 or 1745/6. Our cellphone numbers are 010-5201-1740 (Chairman Lee), 010-3388-1682 (Korean) and email address edt@koreapost.com.

The Bartender crushed

At a wedding reception I recently attended someone said, “All the married men please stand next to the person who has made your life worth living.”

The bartender was nearly crushed to death!

Hankuk Kyungje

Safety belt

One warm summer evening, the woman was driving with her three young children.

All of a sudden a woman in the convertible ahead of them stood up and waved her hand.

Astonishingly, she was stark naked! As she was reeling from the shock, she heard her five-year-old son shout from the back seat, “Mom, Mom! That lady isn’t wearing a seat belt!”

Supreme Court echoing military dictatorships with “interview checks”

The Supreme Court, which has for the past two years handed over personal details of prospective career judges to the National Intelligence Service (NIS) for an “interview check”, has also been collecting anachronistic statements about relatives’ membership in left-wing groups. Examination of the Supreme Court’s confidential information protection rules and the NIS’s relations on security duties on May 27 showed the National Court Administration minister is required to have the NIS director perform a background check on the “loyalty to country, dedication, and trustworthiness” of prospective judges.

The Women’s Forum for Peace and Diplomacy (WFPD) and Korean Women Lawyers’ Association (KWLA) are planning an official proposal on May 30 to have Lee Yong-su and 52 other former comfort women for the Japanese military nominated as candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize. The two groups, respectively headed by Shin Nak-gyun and Lee Myeong-suk, also organized a supporters’ banquet titled “Peace Garden for Women and Children” at the Eun Deok Cultural Center in Seoul‘s Jongno district on May 27 and developed plans for a “nomination dialogue.” .

Ministry says wage peak system will lead to more young people being hired

The justification given by the Ministry of Employment and Labor for pushing ahead with the wage peak system despite the opposition of labor groups is to address unemployment among young people. As the retirement age increases to 60, companies have to pay their older workers higher wages, which makes them more reluctant to hire young people. The wage peak system is intended to reduce this burden, the Ministry says. .

In a public discussion at the Dong-A International Finance Forum, held at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul, Bernanke said, .

NIS targeted teachers’ union for official status revocation
