SpecialReport”

From thepublisher

Use the 5media of The Korea Post

The KoreaPost, established 31 years ago in 1985, now publishes a total of five Englishand Korean-language news publications, namely three in the English language andtwo in Korean.

Among themstands out the Korean-language Internet newspaper, The Korea Post(www.koreapost.co.kr). It is updated real-time, and reaches far and wide inKorea as it is in the Korean language and is more frequently accessed byKoreans who do not know the English language. It is also published in a printform exactly like the regular Korean-language daily newspaper (see picture).

Publisher-ChairmanLee Kyung-sik, the 1975 winner of the much-coveted Korean LiteratureTranslation Award of The Korea Times, founded The Korea Post in 1985 after hisdeparture from The Korea Herald?affected by the mass purge of the Korean mediaof the so-called ‘honest journalists’ whom the-then Major General ChunDoo-hwan, the military coup leader, feared most as he determined that they werein the way obstructing his smooth takeover of the control of the Koreangovernment.

Many of theso-called ‘honest journalists’ were sacked as General Chun feared that theywere in the way offering resistance.

Koreans have atime-honored old-saying, Jeonhwa Wibok (轉禍爲福), meaning“Blessings in disguise” or “Evil turned into a blessing.” Chairman Lee became asheer example.

Leeestablished The Korea Post in 1985 as he became jobless but knew nothing otherthan writing English, and relatively well as was attested to by his winning ofthe much-coveted Translation Award of The Korea Times as was mentioned earlier.

So ChairmanLee is at your service. Use him. Whenever you have publicity need for theKorean audience (as well as the English readers), use the five media units ofThe Korea Post (three in English and two in the Korean language). Send yournews for publication to edt@koreapost.com tothe attention of the Editor. Better still, use the handy Katalk: My mobilephone number is 010-5201-1740 for the Taltalk link.

Humor from a kind-hearted formerCentral Asian ambassador:

Who is poor?

A wealthy woman goes toa saree store and tells the boy at the counter, "Bhaiya, show me somecheap sarees. It is my son's marriage and I have to give to my maid."

After sometime, the maidcomes to the saree shop and tells the boy at the counter, "Bhaiya, show mesome expensive sarees. I want to gift my Mistress on her son's marriage."

Poverty is in the mindor in the purse?

Who is rich?

Once, a lady with herfamily was staying in a 3-star hotel for a picnic. She was the mother of a 6-month-oldbaby.

"Can I get 1 cup ofmilk?" asked the lady to the 3-star hotel manager.

"Yes, madam,"he replied.

"But it will cost100 bucks."

"No problem,"said the lady.

While driving back fromhotel, the child was hungry again.

They stopped at a roadside tea stall and took milk from the tea vendor

"How much?” sheasked the tea vendor.

"Madam, we don'tcharge money for kid's milk," the old man said with a smile.

"Let me know if youneed more for the journey."

The lady took one morecup and left.

She wondered,"Who’s richer? The hotel manager or the old tea vendor?”

Sometimes, in the racefor more money, we forget that we are all humans.

Let's help someone inneed, without expecting something in return.

It will make us feelbetter than what money can.

Coffee never knew thatit would taste so nice and sweet, before it met milk and sugar.

We are good asindividuals but become better when we meet and blend with the right people...

Stay connected.

"The world is fullof nice people... If you can't find one... Be one.
