Citizens advised to stay away from the infected areas of Itaewon

Korea reported 26 more coronavirus cases today in the wake of a cluster infection connected to the clubs and drinking joints in the downtown Itaewon area in Seoul as Korean health authorities strove to contain the new spread of COVID-19.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the 26 new cases brings the total number of COVID cases to 10,962.

The number of cases connected to the Itaewon bars and clubs in Seoul has surpassed 100 in the midst of increasing worries over a possible new wave of virus infections across the country.

The death toll from the COVID-19 epidemic increased to 259 after adding one more fatality, according to the KCDC, with the mortality rate reaching 2.%.
