Jeonbuk Technopark concluded an MOU with Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB), a start-up promotion agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on Oct. 8.

Under the MOU, Jeonbuk Technopark will actively support Korean companies' exports and marketing activities in Vietnam.

As part of the Vietnamese government's "National Innovation" project, SIHUB is a start-up support organization established by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology in 2016 with the aim of supporting business activities and innovative growth.

It is playing a leading role in creating a start-up ecosystem in Vietnam through matching days and startup fairs.

Through a business agreement with Jeonbuk Technopark and SIHUB, they will carry out such projects as supporting exports to each other's countries, recruiting investors to succeed in entering each other's countries, and promoting cooperation to support commercialization.

"Based on our cooperation with Vietnam's SIHUB, we will secure a bridgehead to Southeast Asia, which is emerging as a global emerging market, to create opportunities to offset the difficulties of local small and medium-sized enterprises in the COVID-19 era," said Yang Kyun-eui, president of Jeonbuk Technopark.

"We plan to expand the global win-win model that makes the crisis an opportunity with the technology and innovation of local small and medium-sized enterprises in the global market," he added.
