Hwaseong City Mayor Seo Chul-mo was named as "Korea Communication CEO" at the 13th Korea Communication Awards held at the Korea Press Foundation on Nov. 11.
The competition, organized by the Korea Internet Communication Association under the Ministry of Science and ICT, the competition, is designed to select the best communication CEOs who actively communicated with employees and citizens in social media, web services, mobile and offline.
At the event, Mayor Seo was highly recognized for his active communication administration, citing "communication with citizens" as the key value of the 7th civil election administration.
Since the beginning of his inauguration, Mayor Seo has opened a "civil communication plaza" and established an online platform where citizens can freely voice their opinions on municipal administration, and so far, he has received 1,135 proposals for civic agendas through a total of 218 live Facebook broadcasts.
In addition, the Hwaseong Citizens' Regional Conference, which was introduced for the first time by the city, was broadcast live through social broadcasting at each meeting, paving the way for both citizens and public officials to seek solutions together.
Mayor Seo Chul-mo said, "I will do my best for trusted administration and make sure that citizens become the owner of the city government."
