Samsung C&T has been included in the World Index for the fourth consecutive year in this year's evaluation of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, the company said on Nov. 16.

DJSI is a sustainable management evaluation index of companies jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones of the U.S., a global financial information provider, and SAM of Switzerland.

It presents a comprehensive evaluation of non-financial factors such as environment, society and governance every year, as well as financial performance, among the top 2,500 global listed companies.

The World Index for 2020 included only 323 companies, or 12.7 percent, of the 2,540 companies assessed worldwide, while a total of 17 companies, including Samsung C&T, were included.

In October, Samsung C&T announced that it would stop all new coal-related projects such as investment, engineering and trading in order to strengthen eco-friendly management and withdraw the existing projects sequentially following completion and termination of contracts.

Samsung C&T has been making every effort to establish itself as a sustainable value-creating company while actively communicating with various stakeholders of the company.
