The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on February 22 that it had published the '2021 Online Exhibition User Guide' with a view to helping Korean export companies participate in the online exhibitions.

As the pandemic is prolonged, large exhibitions at home and abroad are switching to online one after another and online exhibitions are emerging as a new opportunity for marketing activities. This year, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which attracts more than 4,000 companies and 180,000 visitors from around the world every year, opened a new phase of the online exhibition by holding all-digital for the first time in its history.

The association anticipates that the transition to online exhibitions will accelerate in the future, and has published a 'Online Exhibition User Guide' in order to strengthen the online marketing capabilities of Korean export companies. The guide is available at the Korea International Trade Association e-library (ebook.kita.net).

The guide describes ▲ characteristics of online exhibitions, ▲ how to search online exhibitions, ▲ application process for participation, ▲ things to prepare for marketing activities, ▲ how to utilize business-to-business (B2B) transaction matching platform (tradeKorea.com) and video consultation service in detail. It is expected to be practical help to companies who are not yet familiar with participating in and using online exhibitions.

Kim Hyun-chul, head of the Global Marketing Group at the Korea International Trade Association, said, “Online exhibitions that go beyond the limitations of existing offline channels are emerging as a new opportunity for marketing activities,” and added, “Even if we overcome the COVID-19 crisis and return to the old routine, overseas exhibitions are expected to be converted in a direction that creates synergy through the combination of offline and online. We will make every effort to support Korean companies to proactively respond to these environmental changes and discover opportunities for overseas expansion.”
