It should be noted that the UAE attaches great importance to education since its inception and it is still one of the most important priorities of the UAE government. The UAE has focused on educating men and women alike. In 1975, the literacy rate for men was 54% and the literacy rate for women was 31%. Today, the literacy rate for both men and women is 95%. The UAE’s commitment to education has helped the nation’s economic diversification and prepare a new generation of young people who can compete in the global market.
