Says CEO Kim Soo-woo of Pyeongtaek Brain City Project Financial Investment Co.

Pyeongtaek (平澤) is a region consisting mainly of rural areas, and is a village where noble people who love “nongak” (traditional Korean music performed by farmers) and preserve purity live.
There is a nice man from Pyeongtaek, whose hometown is a flat and beautiful pond that reminds us of our hometown. He is CEO Kim Soo-woo of Brain City Co.

CEO Kim's career is truly spectacular. He boasts of a wide spectrum that will cover the whole country beyond the Pyeongtaek City area.
While serving as the 7th member of Pyeongtaek City Council, Brain City CEO Kim created a resting space and exercise facilities so that the citizens of Pyeongtaek Sosabeol New Town have no choice but to love them, and installed a fountain in the middle of the lake. He did a great job making it a landmark lake park.
The water quality improvement project of Tongbokcheon Stream linking the old and new downtowns of Pyeongtaek City was carried out and natural monuments such as cranes and wild geese came back. Kim was a city councilman carefully keeping environment.

CEO Kim said, “I remember the most memorable case when I knew that many middle and high school students faced the difficulty of purchasing school uniforms due to their family’s poor financial status, and actively carried out the school uniform support project. Also, I implemented the ‘love purchase’ project, which purchases products made by the disabled first.”
Taking these into consideration, Kim is certain to be a city councilman with a compassionate spirit who silently practiced his duties for the well-being and welfare of many citizens. He also sponsored the visually impaired group for over 20 years.

Korea-US Children's Cultural Exchange Association is the gateway to the future

It is a time when borders between countries are gradually disappearing, and talents with excellent collaboration skills are required to cooperate and converge with each other.
A continuation of realization is necessary on how to communicate with others and what to think and live.

It is his theory that the future of Korea is bright if children can learn ways of interacting with other countries such as Korean culture, daily life, and social awareness in various ways.

The Pyeongtaek Brain City development project has an economic ripple effect of  1.7 trillion won, including local production and value added.
The employment-inducing effect is also great. The most positive effect is to greatly contribute to the revitalization of the regional economy and balanced development of the southern Gyeonggi region.

Inauguration as the alumni president of Pyeongtaek University

With the motto of Truth, Justice, and Service, Pyeongtaek University started in 1912 under the name of “Pierson memorial Bible Academy” in Sinmun-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul under the wish of the American missionary, Pastor Arthur T. Pierson. On September 1, 1913, it received permission to establish “Pierson Memorial Bible Academy Maintenance Foundation” from the government.
Based on this, it contributed greatly to nurturing early Korean Christian leaders and evangelizing the nation.

With a history of 109 years since the establishment of the academy, Pyeongtaek University is taking a new leap forward as the only comprehensive university in the Pyeongtaek area.
Facing the rapidly changing environment and the era of unlimited competition between countries and universities, Pyeongtaek University is faithfully playing the role of a driving force in leading the West Coast era in the 21srt century.
In January 2021, CEO Kim Soo-woo said in his inaugural address as the chairman of the Pyeongtaek University Alumni Association, “As Pyeongtaek University was established by Pierson, the prestigious American family, all issues of division and confrontation will be resolved, and the general alumni association will enter the corporate board to unite the union, foundation, and faculty. We will make Pyeongtaek University a prestigious private school by integrating them into one.”

Have interest in unification policy and diplomacy

CEO Kim said, “As an advisory member of the Pyeongtaek Branch for the National Unification Advisory Council and vice chairman of the Pyeongtaek City Sustainable Development Council, I feel many things.
“The Korean Peninsula must eventually achieve peaceful reunification, and to do so, it is necessary to acknowledge that it is in a geopolitical position where it is necessary to study diplomatic directions and make various attempts,” he emphasized.

My hope to continue various exchange events between Korea and the U.S.

Pyeongtaek is a mosaic area where U.S. military bases and diverse ethnic groups and multiculturalism live in daily life.
Starting with the 'Korea-US Friendship Festival Day' event, Korean cultural experience events such as traditional play, wide jump, “tuho” throwing, and “jegichagi” game were hosted, and the 'Korea-US Children's Drawing Contest' was held in February, with the presentation of a whopping 181 beautiful paintings.

The 'Korea-US Children's Concert' and the 'Kimchi Making' festival with the American military families will be held at Pyeongtaek University Plaza, Kim's alma mater.
CEO Kim said, “As I say again, Pyeongtaek has the appearance of an international city in name and reality. I think that maintaining such a large appearance is a cornerstone for the national interest to regularly and frequently hold cultural events that connect Koreans and foreigners by combining various cultures.”
