- Pernod Ricard Korea makes 'Ballantine’s 17 Artist Edition 2’ worldwide debut in Korea.
- The limited edition has been produced with a sensuous design created in collaboration with the world-renowned artist William LaChance.

Pernod Ricard Korea has announced the launch of ‘Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2,’ a contemporary design created in collaboration with a world-famous artist. 

‘Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2,’ the second limited artist edition following the first in 2019, has been created in collaboration with the world-renowned artist William LaChance. This edition, which made its worldwide debut in Korea, reflects both the artist’s creativity and Ballantine’s premium quality.  

This limited edition is all the more special as a product of a special collaboration with the St. Louis-based artist William LaChance. He gains the inspiration for the forms and colours in his paintings from graphic design, fashion, art history, and nature. The artist has been featured in major magazines like Vogue, Forbes, and Hypebeast, and has built a reputation by partnering with a number of prominent brands.     

LaChance created the piece ‘Personal Record’ as an interpretation of Ballantine’s campaign ‘Time Well Spent.’ This work expresses the perfectly smooth flavor of Ballantine’s whisky using various colours and forms in brilliant combinations and sensuous patterns. The ‘Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition’ package takes its cue from this work and has been reborn in a trendy contemporary style.  

Pernod Ricard Korea is also unveiling a limited-edition tableware set created in collaboration with Hankook Chinaware, Korea’s leading premium chinaware brand, to commemorate the launch of ‘Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2.’

Hankook Chinaware is Korea’s leading chinaware producer with 78 years of experience passed down over three generations. The company is best known for vibrant colours and sensuous designs applied to tableware that has been masterfully crafted based on superb technical expertise. The company has showcased a variety of notable artistic tableware through collaborations with premium global brands. The contemporary style of Ballantine’s has become more visible through this collaboration with Hankook Chinaware.  

‘Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Tableware Set’ is comprised of five plates featuring designs from Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2, which was created by William LaChance using various colours to strike a sublime beauty. The artist’s brilliant tones and patchwork themes combined with colourful and sensuous designs harmonize with this fine tableware set by Hankook Chinaware to realize a contemporary and trendy effect. 

Kerrie Kim, Marketing director of Pernod Ricard Korea stated, “Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2 is the second edition created through collaboration with an artist after the first one in 2019. An icon of the modern classic, Ballantine’s has added contemporary features to this packaging that reflects the sensitivity of a world-famous artist.” She added, “Pernod Ricard Korea hopes that the tableware created in collaboration with Hankook Chinaware can bring a contemporary mood to your table and allow you to experience a stylish dining experience.” 

Ballantine’s 17 Year Old Artist Edition 2 (700ml, 40%) is available at hypermarkets nationwide from October 1. The ‘Ballantine’s X Hankook Chinaware’ Tableware Set can be purchased through Hankook Chinaware’s online mall (http://mall.hankook.com/) and at its directly managed branches such as Nonhyun branch, Yeonhee branch, and Incheon Baekbumro branch. 

Meanwhile, in celebration of the collaboration, Pernod Ricard Korea held a food paring promotion partnering with iconic restaurants in Haebangchon.
