Unrivaled record of five wins out of 7 competitions this year
Knicks Go, a racehorse of the Korea Racing Authority (KRA), ranked first overall in the World's Best Racehorse Rankings after winning the world's best race, the Breeders’ Cup Classic (GI) on November 7.
The World Race Horse Ranking is calculated by handicappers from major horse racing countries who are affiliated with the World Racehorse Ranking Committee under the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA).
On Nov. 11, an international rating was announced that calculates the horse's ability numerically by combining the results of the international race from January to November 7 of this year. Knicks Go took first place with an international rating of 128.
Knicks Go won the Pegasus World Cup (GI) earlier this year, took the throne in successive world-class races including the Whitney Stakes (GI) and Breeders' Cup Classic, and proudly climbed to the top spot.
This year's performance at Knicks Go was truly unparalleled. It participated in a total of seven races and achieved five victories, and displayed overwhelming majesty, including winning 4 consecutive victories in the Breeders' Cup Classic (GI), the main race of the Breeders' Cup, the 'horse racing Olympics'.
These achievements were comprehensively reflected and Kincks Go was awarded an international rating of 128. It climbed to the top of the world by one point with 'Adayar' and 'Mishriff', who took second place in the international rating of 127.
'Medina Spirit' and 'Essential Quality', which participated together in the Breeders’ Cup Classic this time, were ranked 9th and 14th, respectively.
In addition, Knicks Go currently holds the highest record in the 'Beyer Speed Figure', an index that objectively indicates the speed of a racehorse. As long as there are no major surprises, Knicks Go is expected to occupy the top spot in the final ranking of world racehorses in 2021.
The award ceremony for the world's first-placed horse is held in London in mid-January every year, and a prize is awarded to the owner of the first-placed horse (Korea Racing Authority) and a trainer.
