Lee earned his doctorate in climate change policy at Sejong University
Korea Energy Agency announced on Jan. 27 that it will appoint Lee Sang-hoon, former chief of the agency's New and Renewable Energy Center, as its new chairman.
After graduating from Gyeseong High School in Daegu and Seoul National University's Department of Landscape, Lee completed his master's degree in environmental planning at Seoul National University's Graduate School of Environment and his doctorate in climate change policy at Sejong University.
He also served as the head of the Green Energy Strategy Research Institute, and worked as the chief of the Korea Energy Agency's New and Renewable Energy Center. He is concurrently a non-executive director of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning.
