With a total of 130 people having completed the course since January (the first through fifth classes), the program has fully established itself as a professional training course supporting eco-friendly bar operation.

Pernod Ricard Korea, the Korean unit of the global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard, announced that it will recruit new participants for its sustainable bar operation training program ‘Bar World of Tomorrow,’ which has been in operation since January.
The Bar World of Tomorrow is a professional training program operated by the Pernod Ricard Group for bar owners and bartenders around the world with a view to helping establish a more sustainable bar culture. In Seoul, the program has been open to bartenders and bar owners aged 19 or above who operate a bar. Since starting in January, 130 people (including bartenders, bar owners, and university students aged 19 or above) have completed the course as members of the first through fifth classes.

New applications will be accepted starting July 11, 2022 on the Pernod Ricard Korea website.

Pernod Ricard Korea is planning to resume the program in August after incorporating participants’ feedback from the first five months of operation to make some additional improvements. The course for August will take place on August 1, 2022. The program was previously held two times per month, but it will change to a one-day session held once every two months.
Applications for the second run of training (August, October, and December) will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis starting July 11. Details are available on the homepage of Pernod Ricard Korea.
This time around, in addition to the training offered by Seo Jung-hyun, the owner of bar ‘Jangseng Geongangwon’ who shared ways to apply eco-friendly processes to bar operations in the previous training sessions, Park Ji-soo, the owner of ‘Zest Bar’ in Cheongdam, which is well-known for its zero-waste pursuits, will join the training to share insights on the sustainable practices that can be introduced to bar operations.
The company will be offering not just the training program but also a wide range of special lectures on the theme of sustainability as part of its continuous efforts to train the participants. Participants will also have an opportunity to share the sustainability and responsibility techniques they are practicing at their bars. All of these efforts by Pernod Ricard Korea are expected to support the establishment of a more sustainable bar and hosting culture within the liquor industry.
Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard Group has set its 2030 Sustainability & Responsibility roadmap, which is being implemented in all its subsidiaries around the world as part of its efforts to fulfill its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable management in all its business areas. The Bar World of Tomorrow training is part of the efforts to live up to this commitment. Through the training, Pernod Ricard Group aims to help build a sustainable and mutually-respectful culture of partnership with other members of its shared community.
