Its Speakeasy bar "Charles H." leads Korea in the 2022 Tales of the Cocktail, Spirited Awards
The Speakeasy bar "Charles H.," located on the lower level of Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, was named top four Best International Hotel Bar at the 2022 Tales of the Cocktail, Spirited Awards. And also the only Korean bar nominated within the top ten.
In partnership with Forbes, the Spirited Awards have become one of the industry’s most sought-after awards, recognizing beverage professionals, products, and establishments across every facet of the spirits and cocktail community on a global scale. This year's final winner was revealed through an offline event held on the evening of July 28 in New Orleans, U.S. time. To give more bartenders and bars a chance, the winning team will be excluded from the list of all categories of future awards.
Charles H. was named the within the top four in the 'Best International Hotel Bar' category. It is also the only Korean bar in the top ten list that has been announced at the awards. The “Best International Hotel Bar” award recognizes an International and a U.S. hotel bar that offers the best service and consistently well-made drinks in a comfortable setting, ultimately upholding the tradition of the classic hotel bar.
In addition, Charles H. ranked 7th in the Asia’s 50 Best Bars released in May 2022, and 42nd in the 2021 Worlds 50 Best Bars. All of them are the number one records in the Korean bar. The 2022 World 50 Best Bar list will be unveiled in this upcoming October.
Named after the legendary American author and epicurean Charles H. Baker – who travelled the world from the 1920s to 1950s – the speakeasy bar Charles H. is accessible via a secret passageway within Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Opening into a glamorous space surrounded by extravagant pieces of Korean artwork, Charles H. offers a tantalizing reinterpretation of cocktails from each country featured in Baker's writings and a variety of alcoholic beverages, such as whiskey, alongside a diverse food menu to pair with the drinks.
