The accident occurred eight days after the death of a worker in his 20s at the SPC-affiliated SPL Pyeongtaek bakery.

In particular, this accident happened two days after Chairman Heo Young-in of SPC announced on Oct. 21 that he would "recheck the safety management system thoroughly" in relation to the SPL accident.

Safety devices are regarded as the lifeline of workers.

SPL bakery workers also claimed that the accident could have been prevented if only a one-meter-high safety fence around the stirrer had been placed.

As workers were injured again at the SPC affiliates, where there was a recent fatal accident of a young man in his 20s, criticism is being raised about whether safety management is still neglected.

Police are investigating the detailed cause of the accident at the SPL bakery in Pyeongtaek and Shani bakery in Seongnam.
