To discover and foster venture companies

POSCO Holdings has opened a "ChangeUp Ground Silicon Valley" office in Silicon Valley in the U.S. About 70 people attended the opening ceremony held at the Silicon Valley San Jose office on Jan. 10 (local time), including Park Sung-jin, POSCO Holdings' industry-academic cooperation manager, Lim Seung-kyu, president of POSCO Technology Investment, and officials from domestic investment institutions such as Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Corporation, Korea Development Bank, Korea Venture Investment, Samsung, SK, and Hanwha.

ChangeUp Ground Silicon Valley is aimed to expand the startup space ChangeUp Ground operated by POSCO Group in Pohang, Gwangyang, and Seoul to Silicon Valley in the U.S. to discover and foster venture companies.

"POSCO Group plans to revitalize the global venture ecosystem with a virtuous cycle of start-up, investment, development, and recovery through the Changeup Ground Silicon Valley office," said Park Sung-jin of POSCO Holdings.

"We will provide maximum convenience by providing free office conference space and other supports so that businesses in the early stage can build its foundation, and venture companies can be listed on NASDAQ or grow into unicorn companies," he said.

POSCO Holdings, along with POSCO International and 11 venture companies signed a "POSCO Group Fostering and Investment Venture Global Value-Up Business Agreement" to help Korea's top venture companies explore overseas markets and attain investment from global investment institutions.
