The 4th Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held in the Gangwon Special Self-Goverment Province, the Republic of Korea. The province has already hosted the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.

As the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Asia, the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games will build on the legacy of PyeongChang 2018 and welcome even more young people to participate through a variety of activities before, during and after the Games.

From Jan. 19 (Fri) to Feb. 1 (Thu), Four cities in the Gangwon Special Self-Goverment Province (Gangneung, Pyeongchang, Hwaseong, Jeongseon) will accommodate more than 15,000 participants (1,900 athletes) from more than 80 different countries of the world to promote the healthy body and spirit of challenge among young people (aged between 15 and 18) to strengthen the spirit of participation and a sense of caring through cultural and educational programs.

Number of games, names: 7 sports games, 15 disciplines, 81 events: Ice skating (short track, speed, figure), ice hockey, curling Snow skiing (Alpine, freestyle, snowboard, ski jumping, cross-country, Nordic combined), biathlon, bobsleigh skeleton, luge - 2012 Innsbruck, Austria - 2016 Lillehammer, Norway - 2020 Lausanne, Switzerland - 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games.

Moongcho: The snowballs that Suhorang and Bandabi play with snow during a snowball fight in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, in 2018 are transformed into Mungcho as the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games approach.

Embodying the sporting spirit of Suhorang Tiger and Bandabi, Mungcho looks forward to the Games with excitement as he watches the youth prepare for the competition, wearing goggles and a scarf like the other athletes.
