“Finding the intersection of humanities and technology: Looking for the secret of creativity to see different things differently”

Sejong University (President Bae Deg-Hyo) and Sejong Research Institute (Chairman Lee Yo-Seop) jointly held the Sejong Forum by inviting CEO Kang Shin-jang of Monaissance on July 11, 2019 at the Sejong Hotel in Seoul. The title of his lecture was “Finding the intersection of humanities and technology: Looking for the secret of creativity to see different things differently”

At the lecture, CEO Kang said, “innovation comes from the intersection of humanities and technology, and the intersection is a reflection of humanity that comes from people's minds.”

CEO Kang Shin-jang of Monaissance is giving a lecture at the Sejong Forum held at Sejong Hotel in Seoul.

He then took an example of Steve Jobs. "Steve Jobs is a person who looked at the world at the level of someone else. He has been able to do so many revolutionary innovations because he saw something different.” In fact, in 2011, Steve Jobs said that “Apple is always at the crossroads of technology and humanities.”

Kang said, "In the case of coffee vending machines, we have realized innovation that changes the location of the coffee shop by recognizing customers' inconvenience. This is the intersection of technology and humanities," and “no matter how great the technology is, if you do not understand the mind and life of the consumer, you will be forced to cull.”

Finally, he said, “big data, artificial intelligence, internet of things, virtual reality and the fourth industrial revolution ear has arrived, but if you cannot feel and find the humanity in people's hearts and it is useless.”
