Pernod Ricard Korea, the Korean unit of the global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard, will replace entire corporate vehicles with eco-friendly mobility in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
The company plans to replace all of its corporate business vehicles with eco-friendly versions starting from the end of this month. As part of the plan, the roughly 60 corporate vehicles used by sales representatives that are equipped with only internal combustion engines (“ICE”) will be first replaced with hybrid vehicles. Vehicles purchased thereafter will be limited to electric and hybrid vehicles as part of the company’s plan to maintain 100% eco-friendly vehicles.
Compared to ICE vehicles, eco-friendly vehicles reduce carbon emissions by approximately 50g per 1 km of driving distance.* By replacing the corporate vehicles used by sales employees, the company expects about 76.25 tons of CO2 emissions to be reduced per year. This is equivalent to planting more than 11,553 30-year-old pine trees.
